Pompey Close to Completing Baros Loan Signing

By: b-man | January 24th, 2008

milan-baros.jpgLyon striker Milan Baros could make his Pompey debut as soon as saturday’s FA Cup match against Plymouth.

My first thought was ‘is it really worth signing a man who made little/no impact at Villa or Liverpool?’.

However after thinking about it more methodically I’ve realised that it is a pretty good deal if it does happen. By getting him on loan it will give Harry a chance to see whether he should sign him permanently or not.

Also it means that we have him to play throughout the African Cup of Nations however when Kanu and Utaka return, we don’t have the same obligation to play him as we would if we’d signed him on a permanent deal.

“He’d be a good loan signing and it would be a terrific opportunity to have a look at him,” manager Harry Redknapp told the club website.

“It would be a loan deal until the end of the season and then we’ll see how it goes from there.”

Another genius plan from Mr Redknapp!

Keep up the good work Harry!
