Will Mid-Week Goal Spark Nugent Into Action?

Considering Nugent was in such sensational form last year in The Championship, he was even briliant enough to earn a place in Steve McClaren’s England squad, and when you think that he’d never even played at the highest level it suggests he was doing something right! How desperate are all Pompey fans to see some of that form in the coming weeks? What with Kanu likely to miss the weekends game against Reading, it’s the perfect time for Nugent to spark into action. After the goal against Burnley Harry Redknapp is hopefull.
“Hopefully, David will come on from this,” said Redknapp. “He (Nuge) needs to work hard and take his chances when they come. We’ve got a bit of competition up there because Kanu has been fantastic and I have got four up front.”
Let’s all hope and pray for a Nugent hat-trick this weekend… thinking about it we better cross our fingers aswell!
