Which Player Would You Most Like To See Play For Pompey?

By: b-man | October 1st, 2007

Me personally it would be Cristiano Ronaldo. I was tempted to say Ronaldinho, Kaka etc but I feel with them players you have to play a certain way. However with C.Ronaldo he can play in virtually any system and he brings so much to the team.

shevchenko, he needs to get out of chelsea and back into serie A. EPL is too chaotic and scrappy.

it’d be awesome if they got a big top flight bruiser of a striker…or a real deal winger. berbatov? stuart downing?

The one thing I don’t understand is why no-one has moved for Racing’s Nikola Zigic. He’s taller than Peter Crouch, he can hold up the ball brilliantly, he’s fantastic in the air and he’s a decent finisher. And I think this is a player that is realistic for a club such as Pompey.

I’d also like to see someone take a punt on Daniel Carvalho of CSKA Moscow. He can play wide left or more centrally and whenever I’ve seen him play he’s always looked a good player.

I agree that Downing would be a good signing, I wouldn’t be surprised if he moved before next season. I was sure that he was going to Spurs this season but it never happened.

I’m not too sure about Freddy Adu. There was a lot of fuss made when he first came through at DC United but since then he’s not progressed as most people thought he would. Apparently when he had that unsuccesful trial with Man U, he couldn’t cope with the pace or physical nature of the training sessions.

I think that it would be worth Harry Redknapp going for Lukas Podolski at Bayern Munich. I doubt if he would come but it’s worth a try as he really aint in favour there at the moment for some reason however I regard him to be quality.

The beautful thing about this is that Pompey actually have the money to sign these players! Imagine Zigic and Podolski up front for Pompey! I’d be pretty confident of Uefa Cup football if that happened!
