Benjani Could Still Join Manchester City

By: b-man | February 1st, 2008

benjani.jpgPompey favourite Benjani could still be on his way to Man City.

Despite the paperwork not being completed on time last night, there is a rule which sometimes allows the transfer to go ahead even if it was completed after the deadline.

Pompeys top scorer is believed to want to move to City, and the clubs have agreed fees.

In all honesty I don’t think any Portsmouth fan would want him to leave. He runs himself into the ground, he has a great relationship with the fans, and this season he’s started scoring goals.

Him and new signing Defoe up front together would be brilliant!

However I do think he’ll leave. Even if not this time then in the summer quite certainly.

Well I think Pompy want it go ahead because money could be a bit sticky seeing as they were using the Benjani transfer to fund the Defoe one I think. Though I would chose Benjani over Defoe myself.

WHy on Earth would you transfer Benjani. He is everything Pompey wants and needs and hes proven. He is amongst the socring leaders in the league with 2 hat tricks. If they think Defoe is better then him they are crazy. Defoe will never get a hat trick. My point is Benjani is a player you keep, not get rid off.

I think you’re spot on Rob. And with Defoe’s debut goal it could work out to be a good bit of bussiness, because although Benji has scored a lot of goals for us this season, there’s no doubting he isn’t a better finisher than Defoe
