Birmingham 0-2 Portsmouth

By: b-man | November 24th, 2007

niko-krancjar.jpgGoals from Muntari and Krancjar ensured Harry Redknapp celebrated his 200th game in charge with a victory. Portsmouth didn’t dominate Birmingham off the park as I thought they might but it was still a very reliable, professional performance.

The first goal came from a shot from Sulley Ali Muntari which saw the Birmingham ‘keeper make a howler that even the likes of Paul Robinson and Scott Carson would be proud of.

If the first goal was lucky then the second was pure genius! On-form Niko Krancjar fired in an absolutely unstoppable free-kick from around 25 yards out. It had plenty of swerve, a precise amount of dip to get it over the wall, and an abundance of power.

This makes it five straight wins for Pompey, this hasn’t been accomplished by Portsmouth since 1980.

I was one goal off the correct score in my prediction, but I was still pretty close. Anyway the main thing is that Pompey got all 3 points. Woohoo!
