I know quite a lot of Baggies are confident, but come 12.15 at Wembley on Saturday I’m sure they’ll be feeling nervous!

Preview: Portsmouth vs Birmingham

Pompey will be full of confidence after the 1-0 win over United on Saturday. However the same can be said of Birmingham who beat Tottenham 4-1 just over a week ago, and drew with Arsenal with 10-man (even if the penalty was dubious).

I can see it being a good game. Both teams are on decent form and I think we’ll win.

B-Man’s Prediction: Pompey 3-2 Birmingham. Defoe to score twice, and Muntari with the third.

The new Pompey signing is expected to make his debut in our next fixture against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

I’m unfortunately predicting a 3-1 defeat. However BAROS TO GET THE GOAL!!!

Harry Redknapp Learnt From ‘Big Sams’ Mistakes

I can’t even describe how delighted and relieved I am that Harry didn’t take the job up north!

While I never thought he would leave, you can never be sure football these day’s, as let’s face it; money talks.

It is a great display of loyalty that Harry ignored the alleged £4mil a year and chose to stick by Pompey.

After seeing the former Bolton gaffer ‘fail’, if you can call it that, I think he learnt from Allardyce’s mistakes and realised that leaving a club where you are over achieving and on the up, and moving to a complete death trap really isn’t a good idea!!!

I’m not sure who is the new front runner for the Newcastle job. I heard Mark Hughes is a popular choice but I don’t know if that will really interest him. He’s doing just as great as Harry, and he is just as sensible.

Well all I can to Harry say is thankyou. It isn’t much but when you consider that this sentiment is backed by every single Pompey fan accross the globe, you realise just how special he is to us. Thankyou.

FA Cup Preview: Ipswich vs Portsmouth (Predict-a-score!!!)

The African contingent set to play their final game before heading off to Ghana. Considering Ipswich’s home record and Pompey’s good away record I think this could be a tighter game than many expect.

My Prediction: Ipswich 1-2 Pompey

Kanu a doubt. Herman is back but I believe that Pamarot will continue at LB. Utaka’s back, as is Bouba Diop.
This is going to be Redknapp’s 200th game in charge of Pompey.

Expected line up: James(gk). Johnson(rb), Campbell(cb), Distin(cb), Pamarot(lb). Utaka(rm), Diop(cm), Davis(dm), Muntari(cm), Krancjar(lm). Benjani(st).

I believe this to be Portsmouth’s best possible line up, despite the fact that there’s no Kanu. I feel we control the game a lot more when we play five accross the midfield, and it also gives Krancjar the license to roam when we are in possession as he knows that someone is covering for him.

If we want to maintain our position in the table until the end of the season and qualify for the Uefa Cup then games like this must have 3 points written all over them. What with Birmingham managerless and in quite a bit of trouble, I expect a good victory.

Next up for Pompey is an away fixture at the JJB. Wigan look pretty solid under the new gaffer, however I’m pretty confident of getting all 3 points.

Unfortunately Papa Diop is looking like he may not make it, and Kanu is almost certainly still out.

On the upside however, Linvoy Primus has recieved the ‘all clear’, although I doubt he’ll start as Glen Johnson is looking great at right back, and I very much doubt that he’ll start in place of Distin or Campbell. It will be nice though to see Linvoy back in the squad.

All in all I think that this isn’t the easiest draw we could have recieved, however it’s not the hardest either. I mean we could have got blackpool but we could also have got Arsenal U-21’s.

Predict a score and, when the results come through, you can gloat and boast about your wealth of knowledge of the game and the fact that you could do a better job than Steve McClaren, or if you were ridiculously wrong, you can go into hibernation and fail to leave the house for years.

May I start by predicting Portsmouth 2-1 Blackburn.
