Benjani To Be Top-Scorer in The Prem’?

By: b-man | November 4th, 2007

Benjani has never been a natural prolific goalscorer. His main attribute has always been his ability to run into the channels and cross for his striking partner. However, so far this season Benji’ has been on fire for Pompey. He’s scored more goals in The Premier League than any other player and every time I watch him play I feel like he’s just waiting to score.

Benji’ became a fan favourite within weeks of joining the club, and that was when he wasn’t scoring! Now that he’s scoring, his popularity is unbelievable!

Although I think it would be foolish to say with strong belief that he WILL finish as top scorer, I think it’s very possible that he could have a terrific season in terms of goals. When I think about the fact that both Tevez and Rooney are on fire, that Adebayor will not be heading to the African cup of nations as previously expected, Van Persie is back in a few weeks, and even Torres can’t be ruled out, I think it’s even a little far-fetched to say that he’ll be in the top 3. Although I imagine that the odds on him winning the Golden boot are pretty big. If I was a betting man…

I reckon it would be worth a bet on Benjani being top score. But my favourite is Robin Van Genius, sorry, Van Persie!

It all depends on how V. Persie comes back from injury. Early in the season I was thinking Adebayor but he hasn’t scored since they beat Derby 5-0.

Do you know any odds on top scorers?

I’d have to say rooney is in with a shout especially now him and tevez have got going…speaking of Tevez,I still cant believe Pardew put Bobby zamoras name on the team sheet before Carlos, but thats another story.

What I don’t understand is when people say that Tevez ‘rescued’ West Ham from relegation. However if you look at his form and goals, he wasn’t playing that great until he got that first goal against Spurs, and that was a long way into the season. Also the fact that he signed for them caused a stir, which I think they could have done without, but again, that’s another story!

14/1 at VC BET. At the begginin of the season I think it was 25/1. Dunoo if that’s worth a ten quid bet or not.

If I was a betting man I would put some money on that, but I’m not… because…. Remember Kids, The Booky only wins when you gamble!
