Dirk Kuyt for £6million?

This rumour is probably completely false; I say this for a few reasons:

The first is that Rafa Benitez seems to continually play him despite a real lack of goals. So he is obviously one of Rafa’s favourites.

The other is that It seems that Kuyt is perfectly happy at Anfield. Why would he leave when he plays regularly, has the support of his manager and is liked by the fans?

If it is true then I think that it would be a pretty good deal for Pompey. I wouldn’t be surprised if he re-captured his form from Feyenoord if he did sign for us. The reason for this is that I think Kuyt is more suited to being a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond. And while it isn’t justified to call Pompey a ’small’ club; even the most biased Pompey fan would agree we aren’t as big a club as Liverpool.
